Remind to or remind of

Hi,
Should I use to or of in the following sentences?

1. The fact that holidays remind us to/of things which we shouldn’t need to be reminded to/of, is quite saddening.
2. Shadow, in a way is an allegory to/of our defiance against the innate darkness which flows in our veins.

Thanks, A.L.
