Remember+infinitive or gerumd

Hello everyone,

Could you please tell me if the verb "remember" can be followed by an "infinitive" as follows?

1. I remember him speak to the audience.

2. I remembered him speak to the audience.

Or must it be followed by "gerund" as follows?

1. I remember him speaking to the audience.

2. I remembered him speaking to the audience.

No.

The to-infinitive can follow "remember" but the subject of the two verbs must be the same.

I remembered to call my mother on her birthday.

You have to use the full infinitive (to speak) directly after remember — with no noun phrase in between. The gerund is OK with or without an intervening noun phrase. Note the pattern below.
