Remember it when

Hi, I have a question as usual and need your help. I know that "I like it when S +V" or " I like when S +V" are both are okay and the meaning is the same. Then, how about "I remember it when S +V?". I have never seen this formed sentence so far. What do you think? Thanks a million in advance.

It is fine, unless there is no background story. If so, 'it' has no place in the sentence. For example, because Sam has short term memory, he forgets simple things, like the fact that he even has STM, but he remembers it when his teacher reminds him.
