Remarried again

"He got married, divorced and remarried again."

If the man being spoken of only got married twice (meaning only remarried once in his life), is the speaker wrong, since the man only technically remarried once, making "again" incorrect there?

Thanks.

You're right, it's redundant. It wouldn't be surprising to hear something like this said, though.

Right.
Say remarried, or married again.
