Remaining

Hi!
Happy N.Y to my English teachers!
Question: I know I can use the adjective "remaining" for leftovers (after a meal for ex.). But can I use it for what's left after something went extinct out of style/out of production?
Examples:
"That milk company went bankrupt many months ago. The remaining cartons you may find in stores only contain sour milk."

Interventizio "That milk company went bankrupt many months ago. " That's okay, but I can't imagine cartons of milk being left in stores for months! Interventizio Happy New Year to my English teachers!
