Remained in the history?!!!

Is it right to say for example "That mischance remained in the history?"

Top answer

What do you mean 'for example'? What is that sentence an example of? It makes little sense to me as it stands.

I meant is this expression and this sentence right?
"That mischance remained in the history"

It is not clear. Every event 'remains in history'.

So "remains in the history" is a right expression?

No, it makes no sense, really. It's like saying 'Lakes are full of water'.

I mean when an event is so important that stays i minds for ever; that is always highlighted in the history.

Then please write it that way: that is not what 'remained in the history' means. As an aside, 'the history' is wrong without further context. Do you have any?

That mischance is still prominent/conspicuous in the history of.... (e.g., the Roman Empire)

So I will write "it harmed the economy so hard that it will be prominent in the history, forever."

No, that is not acceptable, either. Now 'harm...hard' is not right, and the rest of the sentence is a bit lumpy. (This is why I like students to post more of the text—so that we don't have to do continual repair work.)

It damaged the economy so severely that it will remain a prominent event in history.

Thanks a lot. I'll be more careful about the context.
