In the sentence "He remained silent at the meeting", I wonder what the part of speech of "remain" is. Obviously "silent" is an adjective. when "remain" is followed by an adjective, it seems that it should be an copula like "be". but my dictionary gives the indication of [la, ln] for its part of speech. I wonder what does [la, ln] stands for.
Hope someone can help me make the grammatical analysis. thank you all.
