rely on/bank on

Hi.
I was wondering if 'rely on' and 'bank on' mean the same?
Or are they used in different contexts?

My teacher is not relying on me anymore, since I've been absent a lot lately.
My teacher is not banking on me anymore, since I've been absent a lot lately.
