Rely on --vs-- Based on --vs-- Depend on

Hi everybody,

Can someone please tell me if any of the following sentence should be used?

_ I can rely on what happened today to deduce that he's the murder.
_ I can depend on what happened today to to deduce that he's the murder.
_ I can deduce that he's the murder based on what happened today.

Thank you very much.

Only the third seems natural to me, though I would reorganize it: I can deduce from what happened today that he is the murderer .
