Religion+marriage

0 Hi, one of my friends told me that he and his wife have a happy life and he is proud of leading a sustaining marriage(nearly 30 years). He said, to some extend, their belief helped make their marriage strong, because the religion they hold ask them never to get divorced. I would love to know what religion asks people to be loyal to the loved one for the rest of one's life. Look forward to your notes. Thanks! 0-

0 Hi there 02br 00it is great if this couple is still together after 30 years, but i don't think religion is the only key for a long and happy marriage. Actually, most of the couples I know and who have been together for at least 2 decades don't integrate religion in their way of life, and they are still happy and strong couples. And i would also want to add that people can be loyal, honest and sincere to each other without believing in a specifc religion.

0The Christian religion is certainly very strong against divorce. The bible gives infidelity as the only reason a couple can divorce. Yet, church going Christians have a divorce rate as high as the rest of society. So I would say that it has more to do with the couple involved and their personal strength of commitment than anything else. 0-

I'm no expert on this, but I think that specifically the Catholic Church does not allow divorce.
