Relevant

Is it right to use relevant to a person? I am uncomfortable with this, eg please reply to the relevant person or relevant department. I would rather say, please reply to the person-in-charge, or the department concerned (or concern, which is correct?). Thank you.

Hi, To me, it doesn't sound very business-like. And how is the person receiving this letter supposed to know who is the relevant person, or the relevant department? I suggest something like Please reply to Mary Smith, the Project Leader.
