Relatives: That’s the café we met last time at.

That's the café we met last time at.

Is the preposition at the end correct/necessary?

Thanks

It does not sound natural to interrupt the two word verb with an adverb of time. That's the cafe where we met. That's the cafe we met at last time.

Hi,

That's the café we met last time at.

Is the preposition at the end correct/necessary? Yes, you need it. A much more natural place to put it is

That's the café we met at.last time .

You could also say That's the café where we met last time .

Oh, sorry, I meant to put the preposition at the end of the relative clause, not at the end of the sentence.

That's the cafe we met at last time.

Is then the use of the preposition necessary, or could we leave it out?

Thank you

Ah, Ok Clive, I didn't see your post before I posted again. So then, could I put the preposition also at the end of the sentence? Doesn't it sound a bit odd to you?

Hi,

Yes. That's why I said the other way was much more natural.
