Grammar

Relative vs. Absolute (Please read)

Hello everybody! I'm trying to sound smart on a forum, but I don't know if I'll make fun of myself if I use this phrase:

The person who asked the question said "What is the max resolution (size) that images can be on this site?"

My answer was "You could calculate the absolute size (of the width) of the content field in which you can post your image on, relative to the size of your screen (in pixels)."

Is this grammatically correct, and if so, can somebody please explain why it is correct? Thank you.
