Relative pronouns

He disagreed with Copernicus' view that the earth went round the sun.

I came across this sentence in a grammar book . The book claims that that can't be deleted after nouns , can't that be deleted after nouns when they are objects? is there a grammar topic deals with that comes after nouns other than relative pronouns?

He disagreed with Copernicus' view the earth went round the sun.(is wrong this way)
