Relative Clauses

Hello. I need you help now.

"if something happens that wan' intended by me, it isn't an action of mine"

In this case, I heard "that wasn't intended by me" is a relative Clauses" and, relative pronoun is "something".
but what I think to be correct sentence is "if something that wasn't intended by me happens,"

My questions is why the relatives clauses comes after verb, happens?
