1. Who was the person who we met yesterday?
2 Who was the person that we met yesterday?
I was reading somewhere "whom" is very formal.
3. Whom was the person whom we met yesterday.
4. Whom was the person that we met yesterday.
5.John, who speaks French and Italian, works as a tour guide.
6.John, that speaks French and Italian, works as a tour guide.
