Is "which made my mother angry" a non-defining relative clause in the above? (I understand that the comma there denotes such a clause.)

Yes, it is. It is certainly not a matter of a certain "food which made my mother angry". What would that be? Hot chili peppers?

Indeed. I wonder whether the same could be said in two sentences thus making it more 'clear cut': I didn't eat my food. Which made my mother angry.

Yes, but you have to use "that," not "which."
