Relative clause

Hi, I have been wondering about this sentence structure since I had a test.

'Is April 21st the day...?'

A. when you'll arrive then

B. you'll arrive

C. which you'll arrive on

D. you'll arrive on

I chose B. If I am correct, please let me know why answers C and D are wrong. It seems to me that we say 'I will arrive on April 21st' though.

Thanks in advance!

'Is April 21st the day you'll arrive? C and D are very awkward. The preposition "on" at the end of "D" is superfluous.

  • And we are grilled in school not to end a sentence with a preposition.
  • The stiff and formal version is this: 'Is April 21st the day on which you'll arrive?

The stiff and formal version is this:

But only stuck-up people talk like that.
