Relative Clause

Use who/which to connect 2 separate sentences:

1.The man answered the phone. He told me you were away.
-> The man who answered the phone told me you were away(1)
->The man who told me you were away answered the phone(2)
2. The man loves me best. He is my brother.
->The man who loves me best is my brother.(1)
->The man who is my brother loves me best.(2)
3. The man was injured in the accident. He is now in the hospital.
-> The man who was injured in the accident is now in the hospital (1)
-> The man who is now in the hospital was injured in the accident. (2)

The answers (2) are my teacher's. He said my answers (1) were wrong. But I cannot find the differences between those two sentences.
