Relative Clause

1.The investigations support the generalization that there is little that is significantly different
in the underlying mental processes.

2.The investigations support the generalisation that there is little of significant differences
in the underlying mental processes.

ETS: First sentence correct but second one is wrong

What is wrong with the second one?

First repeats that...... that Is it not awkward ?

Please help me to understand....

The second one uses "difference" as an uncountable. You can't pluralize it. (Get rid of the "s.")

It's like saying, "There is very little gasoline left in the tank."
