Relative clause

Hi

I have a question regarding who and that when we use them for people

We say

News readers are people who read the news

Or

Newsreaders are people hat read the news

?????

Can we always replace who with that

When we talk about people

Thank you very much

Waiting for reply

In reference to people, [who] is the most commonly used but occasionally, you may see people using [that] in relative clause which is not wrong.

[That] is used in relative clause with unanimated objects.

J LewisNo, not "inanimated", just "inanimate"!
Lewis,

“Iced Age” and “Shrek” are “animated” films.

A vase, a broom or a mop is an “inanimated object”. "Inaminated" is used as an adjective.
