Are there specifics rules for the usage of reason connectors or contrast connectors?. Where can I find these rules?

I think it depends on the nature of the sentence, I personally don't think there is such rule available. He is highly respected while his brother is so much despised ' while ' is a conjuction to show the contrast of two clauses.
