Is this correct.?/ what is the proper way of saying this.

How did you meet your husband?

We were relations before we got married.

Sorry, this is not a real situation... this is not about me.... thanks for your concern and your help.btw, we were relations before we got marreid is not proper english .. i think... is it?

This might be the best phrasing.

We were related before we got married.

Do not confuse it with this:

We had relations before we got married.

Iff you were related before your marriage, you re still related today. A cousin remains a cousin even if you marry him/her.
