Related or Relating

Hi English experts~
I have a question:
If defect A have some kind of relationship with defect B, which expression is correct/better?

1. Defect A is a related defect to defect B.
2 .Defect A is a relating defect to defect B.

I know that 'related' is adj. and 'relating' can be treated like a noun.
