Relate to

Hi
Could you please tell me if the meaning of the term 'relate to' in the following sentences is 'get along with...'?

She doesn't relate to her father.
She doesn't relate well to her father.

Anonymous get along with... It's something like that, but combined with "understand (motivations, behavior)" and the idea of having common goals and interests with. She doesn't relate (well) to her father ~ She doesn't understand her father's behavior or motivations and doesn't have much to talk to him about that interests them both.
