Rejecting an offer politely

Hello. I am writing to a professor to reject his offer of working with him in another country. He's been very supportive and I want to be polite. Could you please help me with the email I want to send him? I don't know if this short sentence is enough.

"I am extremely grateful for your consideration and the great offer. Unfortunately, I might not be able to come to China for continuing my studies."

Thank you for your help.

If you are not accepting the offer, "might" is not strong enough. Unfortunately, I am not able to go to China as I must continue my studies.
