Rehearse/train

Can someone tell us the difference between these two verbs? Could you also give us some examples? Thanks in advance.

To train means to teach. To rehearse means to practice. Compare:

I am training a play - wrong.

I am traning a student - right.
I am rehearsing a student - wrong.

BUT ... if you omit the object, they do get kind of similar.
