registered

Fairly rapid growth was registered in foreign trade, and foreign capitial utilization improved in quality.

My question is that what is the word with a meaning closest to "registered" in this sentence.

My guess is "displayed" or "indicate".

Hi,

Here are two of the less common uses of "register" (from www.dictionary.com)

  1. To indicate on or as if on an instrument or a scale.
  2. To give outward signs of; express: Her face registered surprise.

  3. I think "indicated" or "showed" might be very close.
