register

cell phone menu: call register -- missed calls, dialed calls, call duration...etc

Does 'register' mean record or history.

Thanks,

Hi, It's an official record or list, eg a register of births, marriages and deaths. However, 'official' can be in a loose sense. When I write a cheque, I write the payment on a line in my little cheque register (No, I don't like online banking).

Yes; it is a 'record', and it constitutes a 'history'.

In the U.S., you see publications like "Federal Register" which are chronological compilations of government agency regulations.
