It think it is fine. I would say, "I'm calling regarding...."

"in regards to" sounds wrong to me. I know people do use it, but I've always thought of it as a mistake. http://wsu.edu/~brians/errors/regards.html calls it "nonstandard". I guess people differ in their usage...

In my opinion, it's simpler and clearer to say

"I am calling about your shipment to Shanghai".
