regarding train travelling

Is it ok to say?
The train was halted in Allahabad (Station name) for 2 Hours or
The train was stopped in Allahabad for 2 Hrs.

Please suggest me the correct sentence. The situation was I was trying to explain the reason of being late in arriving when some asked about that.

Also One doubt. Once we reached to our destination, if we have to inform to our parents that I have got down from the train, what could be the best expression. Is it ok to say,
Mom, I am in Bangalore now
or I have arrived in Bangalore now
or any other suggestions?

Both are OK, though they deed a full stop (period) at the end.
