Regarding the use of article and plural.

Sentence: These nutcases are embarrassment.

My Question: Do I need to use article "an" before the word "embarrassment"? Grammatically is it necessary to pluralize the word "embarrassment" since the word nutcases is plural?

Thanks and regards Emotion: smile

In that sentence you need an. These nutcases are an embarrassment. You could re-word it to say; these nutcases cause me embarrassment.

  • In that sentence you need an.
  • These nutcases are an embarrassment.
  • You could re-word it to say; these nutcases cause me embarrassment.
  • The meaning is slightl;y different and I prefer the first sentence but I wanted to give you an example without the article.
