Regarding the usage of articles.

Sentence: "She might get the/a ministerial post in the future"

Question: What would the appropriate article before the word ministerial in the sentence ? And is the article "the" necessary before the word future ?

Thanks

Top answer

Both could work there. A ministerial post means there are more than just one post available and she might get one of those. The ministerial post means that the listener already knows which post is meant.
