Regarding "s" with the verb does.

Sentence: Does this reader read/reads Micro SD card without the adapter?

Question: I know we do not use "s" with the third person when we use the verb "does". But here I am confused a bit. I feel the word "read" in the sentence above should have "s" at its end, but I am not too sure. Can you tell me "s" will come or not? If yes then why?

Thanks

No '-s' and you have already given the reason yourself: 'we do not use "s" with the third person when we use the verb "does."'

Ya but I was confused because I had seen some good author using "s" in their "complex" sentence with the verb "does". They might have some other reason for it. Might be there was some special reason.

If you can produce that good writer's sentence, I will be happy to comment. Offhand, I cannot imagine 'does reads' in any situation.
