Regarding has or have verb.

Sentence: "She and the public has/have moved on"

My question/doubt: What would be the right verb in this sentence has or have ? I think it ought to be verb "has" because article "the" before the word "public" makes it singular, right ? tell us what you think forum.

Thanks

The subject of the sentence is 'she and the public', not just the public so you need a plural verb after that. BTW, the word public usually takes a singular verb because it's treated collectively.
