Reg: Meaning of a Phrase

Hello Community,

I just came accross a term "Second Act"

From what i was able to gather from several websites, here is my consolidated definition

1. "Second act is a Second chance to people who fail in their first attempt (be it Sports, their proffession or an Experiment)

2.Second act is a job/venture taken up by people after their 40 years

Please tell me if both the meanings are Correct or it has got a completely differnet meaning?

Regards,

Vivek
