Refugees

Hi everyone! I'm an ESL student. I wrote this little poem for fun and I was wondering if someone can check it for grammar errors. Any help, comments or criticisms will be appreciated.

Refugees

In this land we brought

Our hearts and souls

And the hope to see a new sun

Raising above our frozen wake.

Will it melt our memories’ ancient ice

And warm up our body to a new born

Or give us strength to overcome the fear

And stand up to say: nevermore?
