Reflective accounts of critical incidents

Hi,
I am a student teacher and I have to correct two texts. I would be glad if anyone could give me a hand, since I lack of experiences with correction.

many thanks
andrej

My first performance on primary school of Prežihov Voranc was in the 7th class. I have to admit I was quite nervous, after all it was my first time standing in front of the learners as a teacher. But at the same time I could not wait to step into the classroom. The reason was that I prepared myself and went through the lesson quite a few times at home. I really wanted to test myself to see whether I am a teacher material or not. But I have already known that nothing can convince me otherwise.
I was already in the classroom when learners stepped in. There was still few minutes left and I took advantage of that. I started talking with them just to relax and connect with them. Then I started with my lesson. Everything went smoothly and learners were participating. They were full of energy and I was really enjoying myself being with them. I thought nothing could go wrong. Then I started with my introduction of a new vocabulary. At first, everything was great. I was showing some pictures of the weather, for example "windy" and "hot". I also told learners to repeat the words after me chorally. Then I showed the picture of a cloudy weather. I ask them to repeat after me the word "cloudy" and "a cloud". The point was that there was not only one cloud on the picture but a lot of them. Then one of the learners said that I was wrong. I looked at him with surprise because I did not know what he meant. He told me that I should say "clouds" because there was not only one cloud on the picture. I stopped and smile. I never thought that any of them would notice my mistake although I was really referring to a single form. I explained him what I meant and that he was also right. I complimented him that he is a good listener. He smiled all over his face. He was proud on himself.
It was a nice experience. Although I was a little embarrassed, I am satisfied that something unpredictable happened. Now I know that you can never be fully prepared. Children can always surprise you in a good or in a bad way. They will notice every mistake you make. I cannot only say they have learnt something from me but I have learnt something from them as well.

My inspiration

The last week of my teaching practice I had my second performance in the 5th class. I have already known that it was going to be great. I was very positive and enthusiastic about the learners. I remembered some of them from my observations with my mentor. They were all so very young, childish and ready to learn.
When I stepped into the classroom, learners greeted me with smiles on their faces. Everything I said was so interesting to them. They were looking at me with their big friendly eyes. The feeling was wonderful. The seriousness on my face automatically disappeared and everything I could do was to smile. After I had introduced them with new vocabulary I played the audio class CD. What the learners had to do was to sing a song about a postman named Johnny. First they just listened to the song and then we agreed on what kind of body language we would use. Then I played the audio class CD again and I could not believe my eyes. The learners were all dancing and nodding their little heads left and right. Every learner had his own rhythm and the classroom was full of children's enthusiasm. I cannot describe what a wonderful feeling that was. Looking all those children so happy really made my day. I do remember I could not stop smiling. Even my mentor was laughing and I knew immediately that her heart softened too. It was an experience I will never forget. When learners sit down again I told them they were all wonderful and that I was really enjoying their performance. Their eyes were shining like big stars just because I complimented them. Then one of the learners stood up and started dancing. It looked like break - dance. The whole class burst into laughter. After that they calmed down and I went on with my lesson. But still, I felt happy being with these children. I would play the song on and on just to see them dancing again.
I always believed that nothing can make me feel more inspired then seeing children laugh. They gave me a whole new prospective of working as a teacher. I never thought that anyone can make me feel the way I felt when I was among those children. I realized that they are still so innocent and pure. They can find something good in everything and everybody. That is why I will achieve my goal to become a real teacher some day. I do want this and what is more, I would love to see those happy faces everyday of my life.

Andri, I'm sorry, but if you are a student teacher, then it's part of your assignment to correct these texts. We don't do homework for people. We will review the work you do, if you post it here.
