Reflection vs shadow

Which would one say ?

1 She was standing in the sun so I could see the reflection of the brach in/on/off her face.

2 Shew was satanding in the sun so I could see the shadow of the branch in/on her face.

Is it IN:ON:OFF and would you use reflection or shadow?

could someone also fix the following sentence for me.

1 I could see the reflection of the water on her face, shimmering in the sunlight.

Placement of modifiers is a bit of a problem here:

I could see on her face the reflection of the water shimmering in the sunlight. [As is, it almost sounds as though her face is shimmering, even though we all know the intent of the sentence.]

but for the shimmering one, your way sounds as if her face is shimmering??? the sentnece I wrote is off???
