Referring to things someone used to do

Hello!

When in a paragraph we write in past tense about many things someone used to do, how can we refer to them?

Can we use in the beginning of the paragraph "he used to..." and continue using simple past?

Are there any other alternatives?

Thanks in advance!

The form is "used to" + base verb. We used to eat a lot of ice cream. Tim used to play football.

Thank you!

When we do not want to repeat many times in the same paragraph the phrase "He used to...", but we still refer to repeated actions, can we continue using Simple Past?
