I was curious if saying something like this is grammatically accurate to say, given a sibling is still alive:
"I had a sister with a red car."
I could understand how it could be confusing, and there is a better way to phrase, but I think it would be understood that the phrase would be meant to indicate that the sister no longer owns a red car.
