reference of pronouns

Here's an extract from a text about the 'Lord of the Rings' movies and New Zealand:

The Lord of the Rings was filmed in New Zealand and it's a wonderful advert for the country. People now want to visit New Zealand to see the places in the film. Tourism in New Zealand is doing very well - that's the LOTR effect.

What do the underlined pronouns refer to? 'it' refers to The Lord of the Rings, that's clear, but what about that?

Thanks for your answers in advance.

Thanks, Mr. Micawber,

that's the way I see it, too. The answer key to the cousebook I have taken the text from (Total English, Pre-Intermediate, students' book p56), however, says that refers to the LOTR effect, which is obviously not correct.

Best wishes

Stefan
