Hi
Please help me with this.
This is from Julius Caesar.
Mark Antony says these words:
Context: He feels very sad and agitated at the killing of Caesar by Brutus and other conspirators. He feels it is a best time to lay down his life.
" I shall not find myself so apt to die:
No place will please me so, no mean of death,
As here by Caesar, and you cut off,
the Choice and master spirits of this age."
My question: Whom does Antony refer to as Choice and master spirits of this age? And why?
What does cut off mean here?
