Redundant?

Hello. Please check this for me and tell me if "for it" is redundant?

"Why didn't you show up?"

"I don't know."

"You weren't in the mood (for it)?"

Top answer

"for it" is not redundant, because it does not give the same information that is already contained in another part of the same sentence. However, it is unnecessary, so you can omit it if you wish. CJ
