Hi. could anybody tell me why "opened" is correct, and not "having been opened"?

The opening date was a previous event, wasn't it?

well it might be used but ther is a date in 1988 so that means it is past tense and there is no other sentences explaining that sth different opened or done before or after that date.We dont make any comparison or we dont try to indicate that sth was done afterwards.There is just one date and all the sentence is about it.
