I would like to know the menaing of the next sentence.

It's always shocking to see one's existence reduced to a blurb.

A "blurb" is a short sentence on the back of a book, in order to advertise it. It might say "I thought it was a fantastic book!" or "A really good read!" or "It's his best yet - a real blockbuster!"

In other words, the blurb does not really tell you anything about the book at all. In some ways it is an insult to the book, to sum it up in such a short way
