Hello,

Can someone explain what "redeeming" means or what this sentence tries to tell?

to redeem something is to repurchase it. To redeem someone means to rescue them or to set them free again. Paul Schrader means by "not finding the redeeming quaties in him" that he does not have the ablility or the will to redeem anything or anyone.
