Red point or red dot?

Hi!

If I want to appreciate someone's work at the end of the class, what do I say? You will get a RED POINT or a RED DOT?

Thank you in advance.

Neither expression makes any sense to me. It is probably a local reward system used by a school. In the US, excellent school work gets a gold star.
