‘Rectify a breach’ what does it mean?

Can someone explain to me what ‘rectify a breach’ mean in the following context:

Just recently reported a noise complaint and was told “a breach notice has been issued” and that residents have about a month to “rectify a breach”.

What do they mean by that? What does rectify mean in this context?

I have looked up rectify which means to correct sth/ or a situation. But I don’t quite understand what does it mean in this context.

Thanks in advance.
