Rectangular dining tables have an advantage over...

Hi

Could you please help me with this dialogue? Is it OK?

(Two friends at a shop)

A- I think you should go for a rectangular dining table.
B - Why not a round one?
A - Because a rectangular dining table, unlike a round one, can be pushed against the wall whenever more space is required.
B- And what about the two chairs?
A- Let them be squashed? if you don't need them.

Thanks,

Tom

I don't see any problems with this, except the last line. The question mark doesn't belong there and squashed is the wrong verb. You cannot squash a wooden chair (it does not compress).

You could rewrite this in a number of ways.

A. Ignore them if you don't need them.

A. Just push them tight against the table if you don't need them.

And so forth.

Okay
